The TooREL Institute for Social Change is excited to announce the release of
Showing Up For Black Women: A Reflection and Action Guide, developed by Founding Director Arlene C. Vassell.
Created to support organizations, teams, and individuals, especially aspiring allies, this guide offers opportunities to move beyond awareness and into meaningful action through reflection, intentional practice, and organizational culture shift.
The guide brings together lived experience, professional expertise, research, and practical tools to support reflection, action planning, implementation, accountability, and sustainable change.
This is a downloadable resource, providing immediate access after purchase.
To learn more about the guide, join Arlene for a 30-minute conversation on November 17 at 4:00 p.m. ET.

From Reflection to Action
A Two-Part Virtual Culture Shift Planning Experience
Creating a healthy, supportive, and sustainable workplace culture requires more than good intentions. It requires intentional action, shared responsibility, and a commitment to putting people first.
Building on TooREL's Workplace Culture Tree and People First, Purpose Always philosophy, this interactive, two-part virtual facilitated action planning experience moves beyond awareness and reflection to focus on intentional culture shifts.
Using the Culture Tree as a foundation, participants will explore two essential questions:
- WHO needs to be involved in creating, strengthening, and sustaining a healthy workplace culture?
- HOW do we translate our values, commitments, and “good intentions” into meaningful, actionable steps?
Through guided reflection, facilitated conversations, and practical action planning activities, participants will identify opportunities for culture shifts, consider who needs to be engaged, and begin developing strategies that align with their values, priorities, and realities.
By the end of the second session, participants will leave with the beginning of their own Culture Shift Plan, identifying priorities, key individuals and groups to engage, and initial steps toward creating a sustainable workplace culture where people can thrive, not merely survive.
All participants will also receive a copy of The TooREL's Rooted in Care: Self-Guided Workplace Culture Toolkit to support continued reflection, courageous conversations, and action beyond the two-part series.
